Am I Invisible?
One of my friends and fellow writers here, someone who is popular and also controversial, as they speak the truth, and we know how that goes over, was commiserating with me about our dwindling stats.
This led us to wonder if there’s a “Medium shit list.”
Because I’ve never earned what my friend has, or rather, used to earn, in a single month, I’ve wondered why I seem to be getting the proverbial shaft. As my rise in followers is steady, (real ones, not bots) and some people seem to actually like me, I have to believe my floppery is because I’ve had the audacity to speak out about what I feel are this platform's flaws, even though I continue to write here.
As a longtime MPP member, I should not be merely allowed, but encouraged to speak up when something stinks. As we all should be. (Well, not the noobs.) Just as I have praised Medium for existing in the first place while expressing my appreciation for a forum that allows me to write what I choose.
For the most part.
As I try to practice self-awareness, I’m well aware that I’ve pissed a few people off. Not just the people behind Medium, but a couple of other writers, as well. Or, faux writers. My opinions are not often popular ones, but…
