As in “cult-like,” when one joins a group whose leader seems “larger than life,” and “kind,” and “generous,” but whose own ambition trumps everything else, and those members who thought they were “top of the heap,” are quickly usurped by even more slavishly-devoted newcomers.

A cult will allow anyone access as long as they toe the line, but should they dare to criticize said cult, repercussions will ensue.

Just my viewpoint. Regardless, I wish you success with your writing, wherever you choose to publish it.
