ON THE CASE
Did Marilyn Flower Send Me a WhatsApp Request?
Hell no, I don’t think so
Wow, Medium, I’ve skimmed several meh stories about how you’re cracking down on all the spam and phony accounts here, but, from what I’ve seen, you’re doing jack. Or, you need to brush up on your skills.
There appear to be more bots and phonies than ever before and you have an ever-increasing number of writers jumping ship because of it. Get on the stick, already. If that means you spend less time planning “feel good” activities for those of us who don’t know better, and more time chucking the chaff, then do it.
Folks, I commented on one of Marilyn’s stories where she saves a spider because that’s how she rolls. She’s a kind soul. I don’t remember the exact piece but I responded that I would have done the same.
Her comment on my response was some BS about my joining the “Writers’ Union” here with a WhatsApp number. Writers’ Union. That’ll be the day.
Now, you and I both know that Marilyn didn’t send this but, the reality is, it slipped through the flimsy machinations at work to stop this crap. I reported it and noticed today that it was deleted. My point: It’s not on us to track this flim-flam, albeit, I’ll be happy to draw a salary from Medium to patrol the site.
