Fair play. That said, I stand behind my opinion.

And for the record, I did "disagree with the philosophy," because to me, a publication is doing a disservice to its readers by setting a standard for excellence. That's certainly not to say that everything I publish meets that criteria, but I try.

What did I get for disagreeing? I was promptly dropped as a writer, which was fine with me as I was halfway out the door, anyway.

And honestly, I don't know any writers, those who I've made connections with anyway, who want their stories to get lost in a sea of mediocrity. What is the point of that?

"Bad English?" Sure, I can live with that, but "atrocious English," to the point where you can't understand what the heck the writer is trying to say? Sorry. No can do. And I saw plenty of stories that were so garbled, I couldn't believe they were published. If nothing else, you editors have an obligation to either you know, "edit" these pieces or refuse to publish.

By the way, Medium gets plenty of mud slung at them. You've just missed some of the stories. Or, you're not reading me. ;-)

I do applaud your passion, however. Thanks for the response and kind shout-out.
