“Hey Punk, Where You Goin’ With That Gun in Your Hand?”
Excuse me for paraphrasing Jimi Hendrix, or rather, songwriter Billy Roberts, who originally penned the stunning “Hey Joe.” But, for some reason, the iconic lyric struck me as the perfect thought-starter for this story. Because, there are questions about the Robb Elementary Shool Massacre that need answering and thus far, all I’ve heard is a stream of slick, double-talk.
There’s no need to go into our country’s latest atrocity in detail as we’re all aware of the innocent lives lost due to yet another sick prick with an assault rifle. And, it would be hypocritical of me to spread any more of the doom that already pervades this platform.
What I want to know is this: Parents, what are you teaching your children? Are you teaching your children? Or are you raising self-absorbed nimrods who don’t give a shit about anything other than how they look in selfies?
I pose this question, as, according to multiple news reports, the shooter, who took the lives of twenty-one innocent people (twenty-two counting the husband of one of the teachers killed who died of a heart attack while planning her funeral), posted his intentions on social media. Clearly and succinctly.
Specifically, in numerous texts, as well as daily Facetime chats with a fifteen-year-old girl in Germany, he made his plans crystal clear.
I mean, he laid it out, people.
He told this wunderkind about all the ammo he had purchased and that he was going to shoot his grandmother and then “shoot up a school.” This piece of scum also told his new friend that he threw dead cats at people’s houses. (Anyone here wonder how those cats “got dead?”)
Now, my question is this: Are teenage girls so needy for the attention of teenage boys that they’ll entertain the ravings of a lunatic? At fifteen, shouldn’t a kid know better? I sure AF did.
To the best of my knowledge, and I’ve looked, this empty-headed twit told no one about the shooter’s plans until after the fact. Of course, she and her mother are now granting interviews.
