I’ve been writing for over 30 years, in one form or another. A “career writer” you might say. I’ve garnered many accolades, including “Best Short Film” at the Pan African Film Festival in Cannes. You know what I made here last month? Seventy-four bucks and change. In fact, in a little over two years here, the most I’ve made is $118. With over 3.4K followers, so someone here is reading me, just not Medium.

No one’s forcing me to write here, but that doesn’t mean I can’t tell it like it is, or rather, how I see things. And that is, rampant favoritism. I’ve seen absolute shite-slingers here rake in the big bucks, while those writers who truly have the goods, like myself, are virtually ignored. “Just keep writing?” Do you know how many times I’ve read that here?

Regardless, I’m not sure what it is you’re doing as I didn’t see your social media post, but it sounds like a selfless endeavor, so good on you, Ryan. As the Brits say. 😉
