Oh, my lord, Carol, I had no idea. My sister in law has live in Sarasota for years and years and is not one of the "moneyed." I wonder what her house is worth, now, after reading this story. She moved there because she couldn't stand our Chicago winters. Doesn't have a fancy house or much dough, but this is quite the eye-opener. Florida would never be my first place to live, but I'm sorry that your "happy place" is no longer.
