Author’s note: The following piece appeared in my Substack, Sherry Raw.

Readers, I apologize for the following ‘“brain salad,” but I know many of you will get where I’m coming from.

It was a day like any other around the McGuinn manse. I sipped my morning coffee while checking my email and gazing at our precious feline brood. Conor, Lorna, and Murphy. They never fail to uplift me and help me feel that life is still worth living. These precious souls need me and I, them.

After trashing the digital junk and “unsubscribing” to all the sites I never subscribed to, I worked out in the basement while my husband watched the traitorous felon struggle through his tired stand-up routine on C-Span.

To be clear, my husband is not a fan. He has nothing but loathing and contempt for Trump. We are both lifelong Democrats and supporters of the Harris-Walz ticket and their tireless campaign to eliminate the threat of a second Trump term.

Rather, my husband tunes in to the felon’s rallies for the mindless entertainment value, but, we have much heftier fish to fry. And a pan that’s not big enough. And, I am running out of gas. More about this in a bit.
