Shari, the fact that you have to “defend” your life, in 2023, sickens me. If it’s any consolation, I’m 70 and never regretted my husband and I not having kids. Our cats are our kids and I’m thrilled with that. Yes, I, too, am still chasing dreams that have long eluded me while “life happens,” but, stupidly perhaps, I keep at it.

For those people who judge you or question your choices, Here’s my answer: Fuck ‘em.
