Thank You for the Gift of Friendship

From one stone-cold weirdo…to well, many

Like my mother, who has been gone for six years, I’m not the sentimental type. I’m missing that gene, but, if there’s ever been a time to muster up the “stuff” to speak from the heart, it’s now.

It’s been a tough year. Or, is that year and a half? I lost count. And, we have many more hurdles to come, if what “they’re” telling us is on point. I’m expecting that soon, we’ll be back in lockdown, but this time, it will be even tougher, as we’ve exhausted all our coping mechanisms. Decluttering. Journaling. Learning a new language. Drinking.

Drinking.

And I can tell you, I won’t be concocting my own sourdough starter anytime soon.

So, I wanted to take a few minutes before I get ready to go to my sister’s house, where I’m going to do my absolute best to not make a Yuletide ass out of myself, to thank you for the support, encouragement, and most of all, friendship that I’ve been fortunate to receive, here.

And Medium, I’m feeling so “squishy” right now that the above goes for you, as well. Kinda, sorta. Nah. I’m kidding. It does.

I hope I’ve done the same for all of you. If I’ve fallen short, feel free to give me a virtual kick in the ass.
