Your blind belief in bullshit is borderline scary

I had an epiphany recently. I’m a complete failure at damn near everything except for being an awesome cat mom. But, that’s a story for another day, which I will share. Hopefully, we can wallow, together.

For now, I will share that the upside of failure is education if one is open to it. You learn a lot of shit when you’ve been chasing a dream for longer than you can remember and it’s still out of your grasp.

Take writing platforms. I’ve seen them come and go. When I was employed, I never gave them a look or even a thought. Why would I? I was a senior copywriter and then an Associate Creative Director at a marketing behemoth and was making a damn good living. At this, I was anything but a failure but copywriting wasn’t my passion, and, as with so many things, this realization came late.

While employed full-time, I didn’t have the time nor inclination to engage with bullshit freelancing sites or blogging platforms. But, when you find yourself involuntarily “retired,” you’ll grasp at any straw.

Now, here’s what I’ve learned in my ongoing effort to bring some additional cash into our household. These sites suck, okay? Read that again. Your Fiverrs, your Upworks, your Urban Writers — and all the rest…
